As part of our long-standing relationship with The Cambridge Satchel Co, we recently launched augmented reality to a select few products within their new range of satchels. We are so pleased and excited to announce that the experience has made waves in both the technology and fashion industries with features from two respective giants, Apple and Vogue.
The project was designed to give the businesses customers a better user-experience and ultimately drive conversion, by allowing users to view the bag in augmented reality (AR), live in their environment. To do this meant create highly detailed 3D models of the bag, which needed to feel as life-like and close to the actual product as possible. You can read more on how we achieved that in this article we wrote.
To implement the functionality on Shopify, we used Apple's AR Kit. So, for Apple to recognise our 3D model amongst the best using the technology and to feature the Sophie bag on their website as a leading example is hugely flattering and testament to the quality of the creative team here at BAO.
Vogue also featured the product and AR experience in a piece about innovation, so it's hugely rewarding to hear that the fashion industry has received the technology so well.
