It is the brainchild of entrepreneur Lady Annabel Astor, sister-in-law and interior designer Sue Jones, and horticulturist Lucinda Waterhouse. The trio were inspired to launch the brand when pulling items from the Far East to decorate Astor’s holiday home.
A phonetic take on ochre, a colour that nods to the East, OKA offers a mixture of hand-picked furniture and homewares from across the globe that promise beauty, comfort and style.
Whilst rich textures and patterns feature heavily, OKA’s pieces are unwaveringly British in style – elegant and sophisticated yet relaxed and cosy.
Today, as well as its online store, OKA has 13 physical stores in the UK alongside publishing an inspirational homes magazine.
The company approached By Association Only to migrate its online store from Magento to Shopify Plus. It also wanted to overhaul its tech stack and elevate its design in line with OKA’s premium aesthetic.
Accessibility, flexible content management and the ability to storytelling in an exciting and engaging way were particularly important to the brand, alongside improving the customer experience.
