This year kicked off nicely for the agency as we won our third Awwwards Site of the Day, this time for the Cubitts! The addition meant we now hold the coveted title of “most Awwwarded Shopify agency,” which we’re really proud of.
Alongside the Site of the Day award, the store also received the Developers Award for outstanding development, and Mobile Excellence in recognition of the mobile experience.
February saw the launch of UK streetwear connoisseur Goodhood’s new store. The brand commissioned By Association Only (BAO) to reinvent its online store by upgrading to Shopify Online Store 2.0 build and creating a bespoke, editorially-rich design. A key objective was also to improve on-site performance and undergo a UX overhaul.
Not long after, one of the UK’s largest fashion retailers, Oh Polly’s store launched. The agency worked with the company to migrate Oh Polly to the Shopify Plus platform from Magento. We utilised Shopify Markets for multi-currency and to ensure a simple route for the rollout of expansion stores to target key markets.
March also saw kitchenware designer Joseph Joseph’s store get an overhaul. Joseph Joseph approached By Association Only to create an immersive storytelling experience. We created a bespoke 2.0 build to offer a more dynamic experience that showcases the brand’s products in a highly engaging and demonstrative fashion.
This spring Bremont invited guests to experience its new state-of-the-art manufacturing and technology centre known as The Wing, where it showcased its brand-new collection of watches for 2022.
For those who were unable to attend the event, Bremont hosted a virtual launch – we were tasked with creating an interactive sketch of The Wing where users could move from room to room and experience it in the same way as real life.
Our fourth fashion store for 2022 went live in April, this time for premium womenswear label Self-Portrait.
The label commissioned By Association Only to undertake a Magento migration and Shopify 2.0 build. With an ambitious timeline, the BAO design team enhanced the UX and UI whilst adhering to the design language of the original store.
La Coqueta is a children’s clothing store in London that marries the traditional Spanish aesthetic with a modern twist.
This year By Association Only was commissioned to migrate La Coqueta’s website from Magento to Shopify 2.0. We also redesigned the store to showcase a wealth of editorialised content including imagery and video.

We’re proud to have grown significantly over the past few years. And being largely remote, it means a lot to us when we have an excuse to get together and have some fun.
Dinners were eaten, too many drinks were drunk, and endless games were played, but the highlight has to be Go Ape at Sherwood Forest. Segwaying through the forest is certainly the way to clear a sore head!
September was a really busy month for the team – on 28 September we co-hosted a happy hour at The Good Hotel, London, to toast day one of the Ecommerce Expo.
We took in the hotel's impressive views of the River Thames while catching up with industry faces new and familiar.
September also saw us launch British brand Sunspel’s store. The fashion brand chose By Association Only to migrate its existing site from Magento to Shopify 2.0 with as minimal disruption to its newly created front-end design as possible.
Whilst the UX didn’t dramatically change, moving to Shopify Online Store 2.0 allowed Sunspel increased flexibility for content creation and the ability to add different stores for internationalisation.
We were delighted to launch luxury womenswear label, Roland Mouret’s, store in October.
Roland Mouret worked with By Association Only to build a new theme to coincide with the relaunch of the brand, working in conjunction with designer Johan Wahlberg to deliver against a strict timeline.
We also revealed the new Astrid & Miyu in October after the British jewellery brand commissioned By Association Only to migrate its store to Shopify 2.0.
We designed and developed a site that allows for and promotes personalisation – such as the engraving of pieces – as well as the opportunity to build your own jewellery sets.
Watch brand Bremont announced the winner of its competition to win one of its new H1 Generation watches in October.
As an existing client Bremont worked with By Association Only to design and develop the competition – the aim was to increase the number of user accounts, increase traffic to the site, build brand awareness and make lots of noise – it was a pretty special prize, after all!
In November, luxury homeware brand ABASK’s new store went live.
ABASK partnered with By Association Only to create an international multi-brand store utilising Shopify Markets.
We also created an entirely bespoke app to handle shareable and collaborative customer wishlists. The app allows users to save products or content and turn them into interactive mood boards that can be shared with family and friends.
London-based ecommerce consultancy and paid media agency Vervaunt hosted the inaugural Pulse ecommerce summit ‘22 at The Steel Yard in London.
The event, which took place on Thursday 10 November, saw nearly 250 attendees from across the ecommerce industry gather for a day of insight-sharing, networking, and plenty of fun.
After a jam-packed day of panel discussions – including one featuring By Association Only’s very own Head of Growth, George Linton – the crowd was entertained by the incredible magician John Duffet, live band Superstrut and an official after-party sponsored by Shopify.

We gathered for three days of work and celebration in our Cambridgeshire office, as well as the obligatory Christmas meal at a favourite local pub of ours followed by more food, drinks and games at The Tivoli in Cambridge.
It’s fair to say many from the agency are pretty good at mini golf after this year.
